Initial Studies of the Charmoniltm System Using the Crystal Ball Data at Spear

First results from the Crystal Ball experiment (SP-24) are presented. In particular a preliminary analysis of 800K events at the J/$(3095) and 190K events at the $'(3684) gives new information on the existence of controversiai states of the charmonium system. We find no signal for the X(2820). Nous presentons les premiers resultats de l'exp&-ience Crystal Ball (SP-24) de SPEAR. En particulier une analyse prgliminaire de 800K &&nements au J/$(3095) et de 190K &&ements au $'(3684) fournit des inEormations nouvelles sur l'existence d'6tats controversgs du charmonium. Nous ne trouvons aucun signal correspondant au X(2820).
